Notice of Public Meeting – Applicant Conference for Round 1 Funding Solicitation (New Date)

The informational public meeting “Applicant Conference” that was previously scheduled for January 23, 2006, at the Berkshire Community College was postponed due to inclement weather. The Applicant Conference has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the same location. Please see below for more information.

The Massachusetts SubCouncil of the Housatonic River Natural Resource Trustees (MA SubCouncil) has scheduled an informational meeting (“Applicant Conference”) to present and respond to questions on the first round (Round 1) solicitation for funding as part of the Massachusetts Housatonic River Watershed Restoration Program. The Round 1 solicitation was released on December 21, 2005, and provides a means to disburse funds for the implementation of restoration projects from approximately $7.75 million received as part of the General Electric/Housatonic River Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR) case. The purpose of the Applicant Conference is to provide an opportunity for the MA SubCouncil to present the Round 1 solicitation to the public and respond to comments and questions from the public.

The Round 1 funding solicitation materials, including a Request for Responses (RFR) and a Request for Ideas (RFI), are available online through the Commonwealth’s Procurement Access & Solicitation System (Comm-PASS [http://www.comm-pass.com/]). Applicants having difficulty obtaining required materials electronically through Comm-PASS may seek technical assistance from the Comm-PASS "Help Desk" by calling 1-800-MA-STATE. Hard copies of application materials will be available at the Lenox Library and several public libraries in the Housatonic River watershed in Massachusetts.

The Applicant Conference for the Round 1 solicitation will take place on:

Tuesday, February 7, 2006
5:30 – 10:00 PM
Berkshire Community College, Main Campus, Room K111
1350 West Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Written comments and/or questions regarding the Round 1 solicitation must be submitted on or before February 13, 2006.  Responses to the Round 1 solicitation must be received on or before March 21, 2006.
